Locate objects the fastest and easiest way with Robotiq’s Wrist Camera! The following introductory video will present you the Wrist Camera, defined by the Visiion and Vision System. The Vision System uses the Robotiq Wrist Camera and the URCap software on Universal Robots to provide you with a simple object teaching interface. The interface allows to set up the Vision System so it can recognize object locations and orientations automatically. The Camera is designed to work in industrial applications in combination with the Robotiq Hand-E, 2F-85 and 2F-140 Adaptive Grippers. Get a glimpse of what the Wrist Camera can do to help you automate your robotic tasks faster!

The following lesson will guide you through the use of the Parametric Object Teaching mode of your Wrist Camera on e-Series Universal Robots. Once the Snapshot Position is defined, the operator can use the Camera Locate node within a Universal Robots program to teach an object to locate. The Parametric Object Teaching mode builds a model based on parameters of a basic 2D shape like a circle, ring, square or rectangle. This quick method allows the vision system to recognize and locate with high robustness objects like raw material blanks, which have few distinctive features. It yields results faster than other methods for simple geometry and highly reflective objects.
Feature Highlights
- Use standard shapes to create the shape model
- Include Cam Locate node in the program tree
- Use the object detection in your program
- Program a simple pick and place task based on your model
